The Higher Self - Part One: Inner Guidance vs External Guidance
By Daniella Breen

Modern society teaches little if anything of the True Power that each of us is. Stemming from the Dark Ages of spiritual repression, we have been taught to all but ignore our inner guidance (guidance and direction from our Higher Self) and intuition, instead we are encouraged to seek guidance from 'authorities' outside of our selves. As a result, our awareness of our Self tends to be limited to our physical body and our Consciousness.

In a time when we are realising that 'bodies of authority' are not necessarily guided by wisdom, nor do they always have our best interests at heart, a call is going out around the world for a greater wisdom. Once again, we are seeking Divine Guidance.

Unlike the Churches would have you believe, there is not one single path that fits all. Instead, each persons path to God (The Universe, Great Spirit, Goddess) is as unique as a finger print. Each of us has our own bridge to the Divine Creator, our journey and the path by which we walk, is at its most powerful and rewarding when we are using this bridge. The bridge, is our Higher Self.

Please don't misunderstand, sometimes, part of a persons journey involves joining a church. This is particularly common amongst those who are lost or struggle with structure, as religions provide a structure and clarity that help some people get back on their feet and journeying forward. However, whether the church (whichever church that may be) is part of their long term plan, or life time plan, well that depends on that individuals path.

There will come a time when the guidance of Higher Self is common knowledge, when it becomes more readily recognised that just because an individual or a group speaks with an air of authority, doesn't mean that they know what they are talking about. It is easy, especially when you are feeling lost, unsure of yourself or distressed to attract to someone who speaks with great clarity and assuredness of their beliefs. Sometimes, as a short term solution, this can be useful in giving the individual an opportunity to get back on their feet, while the other person 'drives the car', however, unless the person takes back the drivers seat, they will likely increasingly find themselves feeling once again lost and confused, out of control and increasingly relying on this other person to take charge. Why? Because they are not walking their own path, they are not following their Inner Guidance.

Without realising it, much of what we do is based on our Inner Guidance. Raising children, developing relationships with others, asking for help and giving help to others are all examples where our Inner Guidance can plays a part. We've all known people who are clearly guided by their Higher Self (Inner Guidance). People who are confident, self assured, self reliant, calm, peaceful and wise, with no need to belittle or control others, are usually in strong connection with their Higher Self, whether they know it or not.

In the next article, you will learn more about your Higher Self, how to develop your relationship with your Higher Self and some great things you can do with the help of this beautiful Divine being.

Being Inspired or In-Spirit In Your Life and Work
By Cheryl Vallejos
Many of us claim to have a spiritual path and for some that consists of going to a place of worship once a week. For others it might be reading spiritual literature and starting the day with an affirmation, meditation or inspiring quote. Still others practice various rituals that might occur daily or on specific religious holidays.

Yet, how often do you integrate what inspires you and what you consider to be in spirit or spiritual into your daily life? If you're like most people, you probably answered, "not very often." It seems that most of us isolate our spiritual beliefs and spiritual practices from the rest of our life and our work. Can you even imagine how your life and work would be different, how our world would be different if Spirit was part of everything we did?

What does it mean to be "Inspired" in your work and your life? Initially, each of us has to define what 'Inspired or in-spirit' means to us. For some it means adhering to ancient religious customs and beliefs, while for others spirituality is a way of being, a belief that we are truly spiritual beings living in a human form. That encompasses the belief that we are more than just physical, but that we exist on other energy levels. Each religious organization has further definitions as to what that means specifically.

Next, in order be inspired or in spirit into your life, you would bring some of the energy you experience when you practice your particular path into everything you do. Here are some suggestions as to what actions you can take and what benefits you will derive. Feel free to come up with your own ideas and try them out to see if they make a difference in your work, your life and the life of everyone around you.

1. Focus on your inner being - We are so outer focused in our work and our lives that we often forget we each have a rich inner life. You know that world-the one that provides you with crazy dreams, wild fantasies and deep thoughts. Find whatever way works best for you to take 5 minutes every hour to quiet your mind and focus inward. You will bring a greater sense of peace and focus to all you do.

2. Stay in the moment - We tend to spend a lot of time thinking about the past and the future, but the truth is that the present is the only real time. Remembering to gently nudge your thoughts back to the here and now whenever you find your mind wandering will give you a much better appreciation of what you are experiencing in each moment. Affirmations, which are statements of truth expressed in the present tense, are a practical device to bring you back to the NOW. For a great affirmation program go to www.energyofthemind.com/products.html.

3. Listen to your inner guidance - We all have hits of intuition or gut feelings from time to time. However, that inner voice gets stronger the more you listen to it and acknowledge it. Wouldn't it be great to tap into it for inspiration, creativity and getting through tough challenges? It's like having your own inner search engine that taps into the inline Internet rather than the online one. Since we are all connected spiritually, our inner resources are unlimited.

4. Tune into the peaceful center - We each have a deep core of peace within, beneath the outer chaos of our professional and personal lives. It is a place where we exist as human beings rather than human doings. In that quiet pool is the essence of who we truly are, where we get a glimpse of our true nature. Tap into that pool when life gets crazy by quieting the mind in whatever way works best for you, and come out refreshed.

5. Develop a regular practice or tool - You might be more comfortable writing in a journal than meditating, but having some practice or tool you can use to connect with the deeper, quieter part of you is helpful. Suppose you are stressed during your work day and have to deal with a seeming insurmountable problem or make a huge decision. Find someplace quiet, pull out your journal and write until a solution surfaces. The more you practice, the easier it will get and you will always be amazed at what wisdom emerges from your unconscious mind.

6. Get clear on your values - Many of us write out our goals, our values, our purpose or our personal and business missions, and then put the lists away. Take these lists-or if you haven't compiled them, do so-and put them where you can look at them every day. Living from your values and your purpose in your work and your life is one of the best ways to bring who you truly are and what you stand for into everything you do.

I hope you have been inspired by these ideas and are ready to make TODAY the day you bring Spirit into your work and your life for a richer, more rewarding experience in everything you do!

Manifestation Scrapbooking
by Jon Peeoh

Here's a simple tool that will help you to focus on your desires and bring them into being. What is it? A scrapbook!

Here's the deal: whenever you see a photo of something you want, or of something like that which you want, say a fantastic house, car, thousand dollar bill, whatever, cut out the picture and stick it in your scrapbook. Make sure you pick only photos that inspire you and make you want your goal even more! For instance, I have a picture of a beach-front mansion that makes me desperately desire a beach-front mansion.

The more desire and excitement your scrapbook causes in you when you view it, the more energy you are giving to the creative process of manifestation. Sit for a few minutes every day and review your scrapbook, visualizing yourself as though you had already attained all of the things you have catalogued. Feel the excitement and freedom of the life you would be living if you already had these things. Get excited about it, feel great about it!

Once again, we are triggering the subconscious in a repeated manner to accept that which it sees as reality. Once your subconscious begins to accept and conform to the pictures in your scrapbook, you will find your desires suddenly popping into your life left and right. It's fun, easy, fast and brings great results! Why not create a manifestation scrapbook?

Finally, when your goals arrive, take the photo from your scrapbook that caused the manifestation and place it in a second scrapbook. Call this one your Completed Desires scrapbook. The more you look back on this and realize how many of your desires manifested in your life, the more your faith in the process will grow. And as your faith in the process grows, so will your manifestations appear more quickly in your life. This will create a spiral that will cause your life to begin shaping itself to your desires more and more quickly, until you finally find yourself living the dream life you always wanted. When your second scrapbook is more full than your first, you will know that you are creating your own reality moment by moment.

Jon Peeoh's Web site www.jonpeeoh.com is a new web community devoted to raising consciousness and teaching others to take control of their powers as creators of their own reality.

The Art Of Meditation: How Easy Is It?
How to meditate daily whilst going about your daily life.

By: Muneeza Khimji

Meditation is a form of relaxing and a method to spiritual enlightenment that has been around for centuries. Yet with all the different types of meditation as well as the varied methods, how do you know you are truly meditating? Which one is right for you?

We are often told that to meditate is to think of nothing and clear your mind, which to me is impossible. Our minds do not stop even when we are asleep, so how do we consciously clear them when awake? The fact is that our minds are equipped with a goal serving mechanism, which means that the mind does not hear differences but only understands actions. It does not understand “do” and “do not”, “will” or “will not.” So by saying to your mind, “do not think of anything whilst meditating,” the mind did not hear the “do not” and consequently you instructed your mind to do the exact opposite of what you wanted. It will now think of everything.

So, if thinking of nothing is impossible, then logically, to focus on one thing is possible, and to me that is meditating. Ironically, meditating can be done at any time of the day and on the contrary does not necessarily require being in a quiet, dark room. To meditate is to be one with that which I am doing, and that means to be focusing on that one thing I am doing.

For example, if I am cooking, then to “become” the knife that cuts the tomatoes is to me being focused and being at one with that which I am doing. To be the knife means that my only focus is to be cutting through the fibers of the tomato. I am not focusing on my to do list, nor on the errands I need to run. My mind is clear of all other thoughts.

This way I am always meditating and reaching a higher level, and I am also going about my daily life. I am focused on that which I am doing. Therefore, meditation is not clearing your mind but focusing on one thought, one activity and being fully present and one with that activity.

This method allows me to meditate daily and be completely in the moment during all my actions.

Start with a simple exercise as indicated below. As you become more masterful in the art of meditating you will then be able to apply this method to more challenging tasks in your life.

How To Meditate
1. Pick a daily activity to focus on
2. Become one with the activity. If you are vacuuming be the vacuum
3. The key is to feel
4. The only purpose of the vacuum is to pick up dirt
5. Imagine you are the vacuum, and feel it as though you are

One of my articles: Healing Your Soul: Creating a Sanctuary of Peace in Your Home
By: Wendy Wallace

Life stresses can often become too demanding. When they do, you need a calming place where you can replenish yourself. Transforming a room in your home into a comfortable and soothing retreat doesn't have to be complicated or expensive. Deciding what brings you peace of mind and a sense of tranquility is what is most important.

Keeping things simple is the best approach you can take.

The biggest challenge is to clear out your junk. You keep what nourishes you and what pleases you and you get rid of what doesn't. Your space is a reflection of who you are. If there is something about yourself or your life you want to change then changing your physical space will have an effect on the other areas of your life.To bring serenity to a room, a cool color scheme consisting of blues and greens is the best choice. Try to limit or avoid patterns. Electric lighting should be minimal. Having soft textures throughout the room will help absorb any unwanted noise as will heavier fabric used as wall hangings.

Combine soft and rounded objects such as pillows, overstuffed furniture, and glassware with hard and angular pieces such as framed pictures and wooden furniture.

Bringing the natural elements (water, wood, fire, metal, and earth) into a room is what will make it a perfect refuge. An aquarium with a soft motor can bring a feeling of warmth. Having the sun shine through colored glass bottles filled with water can bring beauty. Wicker furniture, candles, and several house plants can all help to keep you in touch with the simple things in life.

People are constantly busy and are often rushed. It's necessary to have a room where you can sit down and know that the time you spend there is truly for yourself.

Create a safe, personalized environment where you can come to heal. Create a sanctuary for the soul. Use a palette of soft colors and fill the room with art and objects which inspire thought and reflection.

Don’t focus so much on the act of decoration but rather put things where it feels right.

Creating a relaxed atmosphere can be as simple as using aromatherapy. Small amounts of lavender, chamomile, or virtually any floral scent will do the trick.

Using essential oils has the same effect as walking through a meadow and breathing deeply. There is something healing about essential oils. If you can only bring in one soothing aspect to your room, bring in a scent that will calm your entire body.

Taking a room and turning it into a place where contentment is found may be one of the most long lasting gifts you could give to yourself.

Energy at Work
By Jeanie Marshall

Energy works for you, with you, in you, and as you. In fact, you are energy.

In the workplace, when you enhance your sensitivity to energy you can enhance your experience of empowerment, effectiveness, and efficiency. Energy is synonymous with movement. When energy is blocked, you are less creative and satisfied.

Energy is at work every place, not just in the workplace. Enhancing your awareness of energy assists you in every situation. As your awareness of energy increases, you find an even greater need or desire to be more aware of energy to facilitate the ever-increasing acceleration of creativity and intuition. It is exponential.

You notice energy in your own unique way. The ways available to you include: your five physical senses, your sense of balance, your intuition, and your feelings. I call these "noticing mechanisms" or "channels of perception." As you notice these noticing mechanisms, they become more efficient and effective. As you notice energy, energy flows in the direction you notice. Your attention expands whatever you are noticing.

You are individually responsible for how you direct this flow of energy, so it is important that you focus on the areas that you consider to be worthy of your attention. What is worthy of one person's attention is not necessarily worthy of another person's attention. The world keeps expanding because you view, read, and interpret energy in ways that are different from others. Differences are to be celebrated, not absorbed into sameness.

Have you noticed an increase in activity and creativity in all parts of your life, with more and more of everything? You have more ideas than you can carry out. And so do others! More technology exists than most individuals can comprehend. The Internet connects people from different parts of the world in ways that are not possible through any other medium. With more and more of everything, you must be more discerning about how to invest your energy -- at work, at play, at home, in the world.

Reading energy is a powerful skill for helping you to find the products or friends or ideas or travel routes or jobs that are worthy of your attention and/or are more efficient, effective, or empowering. You are reading and interpreting energy all the time, because everything is energy. If you do not think of relating to people, places, things and ideas as reading energy, just open yourself to that possibility. With awareness and practice, you can learning how to read energy more clearly.

Here is a simple approach to reading energy more clearly over time:

1. Set an intention to be more aware of energy. (For example, "I want to be more aware of energy.")

2. Close your eyes or focus your eyes on a blank wall or paper. (You can practice best with no one around by closing your eyes; if others are present, choose a focal point that minimizes your looking for verbal clues.)

3. Listen inside yourself. (Focus the attention inside yourself for the most effective reading of energy.)

4. Notice how you feel. (Use any or any combination of your noticing mechanisms.)

5. Repeat. (The only way to become really good at reading energy is to practice, practice. practice.)

How are you going to notice and use your energy today? This week? At your next meeting? In the next hour?

Got Happiness? Six Conversations to Have with Yourself
By Renee Sussman

How do you view and pursue happiness? Happiness, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder. Whether it involves your family, work, or hobbies, your definition of happiness is unique.

Some people are happy just to be alive and meet their basic needs, such as, according to Maslow:

• Food

• Shelter

• Clothing

• Chocolate (OK, OK, but a good idea, no?)

Can money buy happiness? Some seem to think so. However, an increase in material wealth does not correlate to an increase in happiness. Even lottery winners only reported increased happiness for the first six months.

No matter how you define happiness, here are six essential inner conversations to have with yourself to help create the space for being happy:
1. Define your essence and what happiness means for you. Then evaluate how that relates to your current state and set a goal for positive changes. What will your life look like when you reach your goal? Check in with yourself often by asking, “Does this make me happy?”

2. Don’t compare yourself to the Joneses, the Smiths, or the whomevers – appreciate what you have. Love what is and count your blessings. Everyone experiences envy and resulting insecurity at some point, but don’t make it a habit; you’re just setting yourself up to feel bad. Instead, tell yourself you’re good enough just the way you are.

3. Live in the moment by fully committing yourself to joy. Encourage yourself to let go. Engage in activities that are rewarding, challenging, and that leverage your talents. Experience flow by enjoying just the doing, not necessarily the outcome or accomplishment.

4. Reach out and stay connected. We all have a need to belong. Statistics show that people in relationships experience greater happiness in life. So have satisfying conversations with people who share your opinions, ideals, etc. Build ties with family, friends, colleagues, and acquaintances. It will make life more meaningful and therefore, happier.

5. Don’t condemn or criticize. It creates a negative lens through which you see everything. Praise someone at least once a day. What you put out there you get back. When you get angry, don’t stay there. Holding onto anger or resentment will most likely harm you more than anyone else. Gain perspective and remind yourself of your commitment to positive change. Reassure yourself that this too shall pass.

6. Take responsibility for your own happiness. It’s no one else’s. Your approach to happiness says a lot about who you are and how you feel about yourself. Like comedian Al Franken’s character Stuart Smalley says in the mirror, “You’re good enough, smart enough, and darn it…people like me!” Sounds corny, but positive affirmations work.

Now imagine that you’re talking with someone you know. Is this person positive? Are you connected and appreciative? Happy to just be around him or her? The small choices you make every day… where you are, what you do, how you choose to think, and whom you’re with…can boost your happiness level significantly. So start talking to yourself! You’ll both be glad you did.

“Most folks are about as happy as they make up their mind to be.” Abraham Lincoln

Hey, Law of Attraction, I Didn't Ask for This!
By Kate Corbin

“What you resist sticks to you like glue.” – Judith Orloff

The Law of Attraction states that you will attract into your Life whatever you focus on – whether you want it or not. Therefore, although you may not have gotten what you wanted, you did get what you asked for.

You Always Get What You Ask For.

If the waiter serves you something you truly dislike, keep in mind that the Cosmic Café never gets an order wrong. You never get something you did not request. You are never served someone else’s order by mistake.
Q: Waiter, I hate Brussels sprouts. Why do you keep bringing me Brussels sprouts? A: I keep bringing you Brussels sprouts, young man, because you keep focusing on Brussels sprouts.

Q: Waiter, I distinctly ordered the roast duck and you brought me a hot dog. A: Well, Sir, you do not order in words. You order vibrationally. To get roast duck, you must vibrate roast duck.

Q: Waiter, why did you bring me the veggie plate when I requested the escargot? A: Well, Madam, although you say you want the escargot, you are not vibrating escargot. You are definitely vibrating veggie plate.

So what do you do when you’re served something you definitely do not want? You place another order. You place an order for what you want clearly and specifically and with all the passion you can muster. Then you give your full attention to what you do want.

Place Another Order.

Let’s say you manifest your dream job and later learn that it requires significant amounts of travel, which makes balancing the other aspects of your life more challenging. Not a problem. Now that you’re clearer about what you do want, place another order by specifically focusing on a job with no travel or minimal travel. As you focus on this desire, either the travel part of your current job will be reduced or you’ll attract another job with the perfect amount of travel. Hold your gaze unwaveringly on what you do want so that you offer a clear signal rather than a fuzzy vibration.

Max claimed to be surprised when he was laid off from his job. Closer inspection revealed that, some months earlier, he had declared – “I hate my job. I’m ready for a job I love.” The Universe believed him and got him out of that miserable position. It was not immediately clear to him that this was evidence of the Law of Attraction working on his behalf, and he did spend a few days feeling shocked. However, he soon recognized that he was now free to find more fulfilling work. As he was able to quit listening to his own negative self-talk and the fear-based advice of family members telling him to “just get a job, any job,” he held out until he found – you guessed it – a job he loves.

Who Ya Gonna Blame?

If you don’t understand that you have created an unwanted situation in your life through your thoughts and feelings, you may look for excuses. You may play the karma card, blame your mother, or curse your bad luck. When you realize that your life is the way it is because of the way you direct your thoughts – and for no other reason – you can seize the power to design your destiny.

When you apply the Law of Attraction and order with focus and clarity, the Cosmic Café will serve you the most delicious life you could ever imagine!

10 Gifts From Your Creativity
By Lynn Marlow

Sometimes people ask me why I make such a big deal about creativity. It’s true that not everyone is, or wants to be, an artist. We so often associate creativity with the fine arts — painting, drawing, sculpture, writing — that we forget how much creativity enters into every aspect of life. Creativity isn’t just about the production of works of art. It is even more powerful as a means to trust, access, and express your intuition and your inspiration..

Here are ten of the most significant benefits you get from allowing your creative energy to flow. The list is truly endless, and, from this humble beginning, you may be able to see countless more. As you begin to see creativity as this powerful and natural flow of energy, you’ll see what a creative spirit you can be. Creativity is within all of us, ready to enrich our lives when we open ourselves to it.
1 — Creative endeavors are relaxing and restorative. As opposed to shadow comforts, like television and hot fudge brownies, creative endeavors focus your attention and connect you with what you feel inside. Activities that you feel deeply connected to are much better stress relievers than activities that numb you.

2 — Creativity teaches you to accept imperfection. Artistic endeavors come from a part of your brain that is intuitive, sometimes disorganized, and extremely subjective. By allowing your creative spirit to play, you accept that some things you do will be better than others, and that some things will end up in the trash. But other things you create will startle you with their beauty and power.

3 — Creativity calls on you to take risks. When you’re creating for your own pleasure, and don’t have to worry about judgment, you can try new things. You can scribble or write gibberish. You can play around with new techniques, or conduct grand experiments. You can put your vision onto the canvas or the page, and if it doesn’t work out the way you planned, who cares? Letting your creativity flow may not feel safe and familiar, but it is exhilarating.

4 — Creative work teaches patience. If you try to rush art work, to meet a deadline or because Nightline is coming on, you lose your creative flow. Creating from the heart takes time: time to listen, and time to let the work evolve. I’ve allowed some pretty impressive art work to be ruined because I was in a hurry. Without patience, you lose respect for your creative process, and for the work you are creating, and that work almost never ends up being something you truly love.

5 — Creative endeavors teach you that you can’t please everybody, so why try? The creative flow demands that you do what feels right to you, no matter what others might think. Everyone’s taste is different. You learn to trust your own instincts, and ignore the opinions of others. Not everyone is going to love what you create, and that’s perfectly alright. Work that is made to please everyone isn’t art.

6 — Creativity helps you find your own vision and your own voice. As you learn to follow your inspiration, you allow yourself access to your essential truth. You express things that you might never before have expressed to another person, and, over time, you develop a clearer sense of yourself. Art can give you the courage to speak out, be bold, and shake things up. And when you respect your own opinions, others will, too.

7 — Creative work keeps you young. When you’re immersed in a creative project, your brain is humming and your juices are flowing. You’re exercising your brain and increasing the chemicals in your body that calm and heal you. Just like stress can age you, by creating wear and tear on your system, being involved in creative work that you love can relax your body and heal the damage.

8 — Creativity connects you with others. When you do choose to share your creative work with others, they receive the gift of knowing you just a little big better. And connecting to your own creative flow allows you to appreciate more deeply the creative inspiration of others. Knowing yourself better brings you to seek out other people with whom you really click, and with whom a deep connection is possible. And spending time with other creative people—in classes, at galleries, at craft shows—brings out your own creative flow even more.

9 — Creative energy makes you better at everything you do. Regardless of the job in front of you, having access to your creative energy enables you to think outside the box. At work, you can trust your expertise and instincts, working more efficiently and effectively. At home, you can use your insight and wisdom to deepen your relationships. You can make sound decisions by following your gut. And you have the courage to become more involved in activities that have deep meaning for you, Whether you choose to invest energy in a hobby, a class, spiritual matters, or political activism, you have the ability to be more vibrant and more invested.

10 — Creative work is a way to happiness. You’ve probably lived long enough to know that happiness doesn’t come from big houses or fast cars or the latest gadget. Happiness doesn’t even come from other people. Happiness rises from inside of you when you are feeling integrated and connected with your surroundings and activities. Happiness comes along with the creative flow. In fact, when it comes to creative activity, if it doesn’t make you happy, don’t do it. There are too many things in the world that you can and do love for you to waste time on those that you don’t.

Surrender and Allow for Miracles to Happen
By Jin Dhaliwal

There is a wonderful thing that happens when a person gets to a point in their life where the realization dawns, that all that they have tried only continues to perpetuate the struggle of everyday living. When this point is reached many have gone down to their knees and surrendered, praying to a force greater than them to intervene.

The scriptures tell us that in surrendering, we allow for Grace to flow into our lives. The act of surrendering allows for the hand of God to arrange our affairs. Such a simple prescription for all that troubles us. Yet most will wait till they have descended into the pit of despair before coming to the point of surrender.

What does it mean to surrender? How do you surrender?

In surrendering, you are releasing the perceived burdens that you carry to the Divine within. When you surrender you are allowing for the Divine within you to influence your thoughts, your feelings and your impulses. When you surrender you are also trusting in The Divine within you to look after you.

As you release your burdens to the Divine within, you will begin to experience the lightness of being and joy will begin to flow again. It is a very simple act and very simple to do, an act that has profound effects on every facet of your life.

How do you surrender? Florence Scovel Shinn in her book, "The Game of Life", recommends the following words, "I cast this burden to the Christ within, and I go free." These words can be adapted to words that resonate for you. I like saying, "I surrender this feeling/thought/belief/conditioning (inserting whatever is being experienced in that moment) to the Divine within me, and I walk free in profound Grace." Let's say you are experiencing the fear of not having enough money, then you could say, "I surrender this fear of lack to the Divine within me and I go free in profound Grace into abundance."

I experience such lightness each time I surrender. The more I surrender the easier it becomes to surrender and the greater the feeling of Grace. I am feeling more at peace, more loving, my faith is stronger and I am inspired. Insights and ideas are flowing into my awareness effortlessly. Each day brings a greater feeling of the Divine within.

This whole process is not one that the rational mind may understand. It is one that you do coming from your heart, with all sincerity. As you begin this process of surrendering you will find all sorts of feelings, thoughts and memories surfacing over the days and weeks. They surface so you may surrender them. As you are consistent with surrendering, you are releasing all the stagnant energy in and around your field of energy. You will then begin to experience a lightness of being and a sense of joy in your whole being.

All this release begins to occur without the rational mind having to process anything. This process occurs because you have willingly surrendered with all sincerity, trusting in the Divine. You may read this article and think that you already know all this. There is a great difference in knowing something intellectually and knowing something through experience. To know the information and the results of surrendering will bring you little gain, will have little effect in bringing back the joy and lightness into your life.

When you begin to know this information through the act of surrendering you will give yourself the ultimate gift of Grace flowing into every aspect of your life and you will begin to experience the Divine within you in a whole new way. You will begin to experience the kingdom of heaven within you.

Jin Dhaliwal, a unique Energy Healer, shares the regular insights that she receives through meditation with the world at her Messages For Your Journey website.

An article I wrote: Choosing the Best Astrologer for You
Nearly everyone reads their horoscope from time to time. But those of us who have an even deeper interest in astrology are drawn to seek out more in depth information. Having an astrologer look at, and explain, your birth chart can often help you better understand yourself and the choices you have made will make in the future.
But with so many astrologers out there, how do you choose the right one for you?

Yes, experience is important, but…

If you had the opportunity to bring ten experienced astrologers together to examine your chart, there would be no mistake that, for the most part, they would interpret the chart exactly the same way. What makes them all different is the way in which they communicate what they are seeing.

Finding an astrologer whose “voice”—whose style of communicating—is one that resonates with you is the most important thing when choosing an astrologer.

Think about what kind of style would most appeal to you. Do you want an astrologer who speaks in very technical astrological terms or one that is able to translate things into very basic, simple descriptions and doesn’t bombard you with jargon? Do you prefer an astrologer who takes a very serious and cerebral approach, or one that sees astrology from a more creative and mystical perspective?

Some astrologers combine chart interpretation with counseling. You are encouraged to bring up an ongoing issue you are having in your life so the astrologer can pinpoint it in your chart and help you see you have the capability to change things. This can be beneficial when you have been dealing with a problem for a long time and you need a fresh outlook.

Other astrologers do no counseling whatsoever and prefer to only describe your astrological characteristics. This is beneficial during the times in your life when you’re doing self-examination and want to get an even more detailed understanding of who you are.

Beforehand, know what your needs are and what you want out of an astrology reading. This will help you to better find an astrologer that can accommodate you.

While seeking out an astrologer who has decades of experience has its benefits, if you don’t feel you are on the same wavelength as him/her, you will get very little out of the experience.

How do you find the best astrologer for you?

Many astrologers have Web sites on which they offer free weekly or monthly horoscopes, free articles and astrology tutorials. In the past couple of years, astrologers have begun to offer podcasts, Web radio shows and downloadable audio. Pay attention to those astrologers who have gone the extra mile to, not just give of their talents freely, but those who share their passion for astrology. Spend a few weeks reading (or listening) to their words. This is how you can best get a sense of whether their style is one that will be of use to you.

Don’t fall into the trap of believing if someone is a well-known astrologer, has been published or has made TV or radio appearances they are better than others. The key is to choose an astrologer who you feel a connection with.

After getting a sense of an astrologer based on their Web presence, request a brief phone conversation with them. Be mindful of the vibe you are picking up and how this person leaves you feeling. Like any other kind of service you seek out to help make your life better, the person you are working with should do their best to ensure you feel empowered after the session. Ask the astrologer to explain their technique and take note if what they are saying feels like it could be of value to you.

Finding, and working with, the right astrologer for you can truly be a life-altering experience. It’s worth taking the time to seek one out.

How to use Journaling to get more Energy, Effortlessly
By Heather Dominick
There is one sure-fire way I’ve found to making an effective change with my energy and that is by keeping a journal. I believe the saying goes… what you track, attracts.

Journaling in general supports your personal growth. Energetic journaling takes writing to a more powerful level. Energy journaling creates a connection to your source. It allows for the opportunity to move beyond the day’s reflection into a place of connecting with your calling, understanding your life purpose and tuning into your life’s next steps.

This can be a little scary (maybe why we don’t make time for it?) because it has us looking at what really needs to change in our lives in order for us to go the next level. Even when we want things in our lives to desperately be different, we sort of feel comfortable with where we are. I mean, it’s kind of working, right?

Energetic journaling is a self-discipline that puts us on a greater path of living a life of grace. It calls us to be pro-active about what we are doing with our bodies, our thoughts, our spending, our lives – you name it. It’s an act of responsibility, and it is the ultimate way to take a stand for what you want to have happen in your life because you are showing up for it – everyday.

So how do we do this energetic journaling?

First you want to begin with the basics. This is about recording what you use for fuel and how you treat your body throughout the day. Be sure to track:

1 – What You Eat

2 – How You Move

Stay with this for at least 1 week. Once you’ve succeeded, take it to 1 month. This small move is actually a big one. There is power in remaining consistent with any life-changing tool for 30 days or more.

Next, record what you spend. This is about how you use your energy in the form of money. Be sure to track.

1 – Everything you spend your money on.

2 – How much you spend.

(Same 30 day suggestion.)

Last, once you have the physical aspects of your energy journaling underway, you are in a place to open up to HEAR the message of your true calling or purpose.

The universe, God, Life force, whatever term is most comfortable for you, is talking to us everyday, all day. We’re usually just too busy to listen. We might receive an “energetic hit” when we hear a phrase, a song, a certain picture or person. We often just push our way right though these messages, tell ourselves we’re tired, or that it was just a “freaky” moment.

But this is where the gold is!

Next time you have one of these moments – jot it down in your energy journal (or a napkin if that’s all you have handy!) Then, later on, create a quiet space and some reflection time for yourself. Sit still. Get quiet. Reflect on the moment that you recorded and ask for some guidance:

What was powerful about this moment for me?
How does this connect to what I have to offer?
How can I use this information to make the change I want to make?

Just listen. Let the answers come. Even if you don’t fully “get it” right away, jot down your answers anyway. Then go back and look at them later. There is ALWAYS a surprise in there.

This is a change from the “Dear Diary” path from our past. Energy journaling isn’t about hashing out the negative, it’s about opening the door to your future. Pretty cool, huh?

You will also be shocked at how quickly your energy shifts and things start coming into your life by using this simple tool. Like I said, it takes a bit of discipline first, but you’ll be dancing to a different tune as your life begins to change!

5 Steps to Achieving Your Vision
By Jodie Foster
What do you envision for yourself? We each have the ability to manifest our visions; it is a matter of intention, focus, desire, receptivity and manifestation. Each of these 5 steps requires you to be open and receptive to the outcome.

Let’s begin with intention. What outcome are you looking for? That outcome is your intention. If you would like a peaceful nation, or even global peace, then that is your intention. This process holds true no matter what level you are working from. This is just as beneficial on a personal scale with a personal outcome, be it a relationship or career change, etc. Begin by holding that intention, that thought, in your mind’s eye daily in meditation or even while grocery shopping or driving the car. It can be something you think about often throughout the day. This is the power that you are giving to fuel your intention. The power of your thought is the fuel.

Conscious awareness is the focus. This is the time you give every day to your intention. I always find that it works well to use post-it notes with my intention stated on them. I suggest this often to clients. By using post-it notes in several key points in your home, car, office, workplace, etc., the reminder is always there to draw your focus back to your intention. You will find that all these steps work together to achieve your goal.

Each time you focus on your intention, add the feeling of your original desire. This may sound confusing, but it simply means feeling the outcome as if it has already happened. This desire encompasses all your feelings including the excitement for having achieved the outcome. For example, focus on having the new career you desire and feel within every fiber of your being what it feels like to go to work everyday. How do you feel when you wake up in the morning? What is on your mind? What is on your to-do list? How do you feel when you at the new job? It is about feeling as though you are already living in the desired outcome.

Being willing to receive your vision is the next stage, for without this, the desired outcome can remain elusive. It’s as though an invisible barrier is erected when our subconscious is unwilling to receive. This can be the simple source of fear, unworthiness, or a belief that it’s impossible. Many of us can be held back with that term “impossible.” It reminds me of one song in Rogers & Hammerstein’s classic tale of Cinderella that says, “It’s possible. Impossible things are happening everyday.” Why do we always leap to the conclusion that something we desire is out of our reach and impossible before we even give it a chance? Does global peace need to remain “impossible” or “unfathomable?” Or can we dare to dream that big? We have the power and ability to change our reality every minute of every day. We make choices thousands of times a day, from what color socks to wear or what to have for dinner, to, do I meet with friends after work?

Remember, you have the ability to choose your vision. Acting upon your vision, also means taking the actions necessary to manifest the outcome. This doesn’t mean sitting back on your heels once you set the intention. It means following through, making the post-it notes, creating your focus, making decisions like choosing to look in the want ads for a new job, or make the phone calls to the people involved. No matter what the actions are, take the steps. The manifestation comes about by your actions and the amount of energy you create with your intention and focus. Using these 5 steps: intention, focus, desire, receptivity and manifestation, you can create your vision. What vision do you wish to achieve first?

Wellness Begins with Your Commitment
By Yuri Elkaim

Historically, statistics have consistently shown that although the majority of people commit to healthier living for the New Year, only a handful keep their commitments above and beyond the 6 week mark. What does this tell us? I believe that it shows that we either set goals that are unrealistic or that we have yet to master the traits of keeping our word and being disciplined.

It is imperative to realize that your self-esteem and confidence are directly related to your ability to do what you say. Your inner power is equivalent to the power of your word. By consistently keeping your commitments (ie. doing what you say you are going to do) you prove to yourself and the universe that you can be trusted. As such, the more you say something and it occurs, the more you trust yourself because everything you say comes true in reality.

For instance, how do you feel when you say you’re going to do something, like work out 3 times this week, and then not do it? Pretty crappy right? I know I do. There is a saying that goes “How you do anything is how you do everything”. If you find it hard to keep certain commitments in one area of your life I am willing to bet that this tendency will also present itself in other areas of your life.

So what is the solution to keeping your commitments?

First, NEVER commit to something that you are not going to do. Success breeds success, but if you keep setting yourself up for failure by committing to things that don’t get done than success will only be an illusion for you.

Second, make your word law in the universe. Make a commitment to do what you say you are going to do. Your word should mean something to you because it definitely means something to others. What if someone told you that they would take care of a pressing matter for you and then didn’t do so? Would you consider this person worthy of your trust? Probably not. Take the example of ancient warriors – they would die to keep their word because to them their word meant more than anything else. You too can become a warrior, a wellness warrior (without the death), by committing to living healthy and keeping your word.

Third, commit slowly and complete readily. Watch what you commit to by initially making small commitments and building on them. For example, you declare that “each morning I will meditate for 5 minutes before breakfast.” By completing this morning meditation and doing the same with other commitments pretty soon whenever you declare something it will be as good as done because of the experience you now have of doing everything you say. This is very powerful. Remember, you commit to something as soon as you declare it vocally or through writing. Your word is put out into the universe. Will you uphold it? I know you will!

Wellness is about balance, being true to yourself, and being whole. To be whole and truly satisfied in life you must begin to trust yourself. So keep your word. Teach yourself, and others, that you can be trusted. Make realistic commitments and stick to them. You will feel better about yourself and you will achieve your goals in no time.

7 Guidelines for Developing Symbolic Sight
By Charlsie Winston

Symbolic Sight is the ability to use your intuition to interpret the power symbols in your life.

Interpreting these power symbols allows us to see and understand more regarding the circumstances surrounding our life and to understand the Truth of it all.

It is when we ’see and understand’ more of what’s happening in our life that the healing needed in both our personal life and that of the world can begin.
Following are a 7 guidelines for using your intuition in interpreting power symbols in your life and for developing Symbolic Sight.

1) Everyday bring your attention to the challenges you have and to how your spirit and mind respond to these challenges. Observe what causes you to lose power, to lose energy.

2) Think of yourself as an energy being, as well as a physical being. And, remember if you want to see things in a certain way, you will interfere with your reception of energy information. You have to be open to seeing people, things and circumstances for what they are. . . the truth of it!

3) Conduct energy self-evaluations on a daily basis. Learn to sense stress accumulating in your energy field, and take steps to heal yourself at the energy level. I utilize the energy of Reiki for this.

4) When you discover an energy leak ask yourself, “why am I losing power?” Involve both your mind and your heart in answering this question. . . your intuition.

5) Learn ‘what’ rather than who is drawing energy from you. Understand that the person you think is drawing power, energy from you is actually only a reflection of some part of yourself. You are falling into fear and blame when you think that a specific person is depleting your energy!

6) Simplify your requirements for healing. Think of illness as a power disorder. Make whatever changes are necessary for healing to begin. . . leave the stressful job or marriage, learn an alternative type energy healing practice, do something fun you’ve always wanted to do, and combine these things with proper traditional medical care, if needed. Be sure to use common sense and good judgment as to your medical needs.

7) Simplify your spirituality. . . believe and practice simple and eternal Truths. The simpler your spiritual beliefs, the less stressful and more in tune with the real you they are.

Achieving health, happiness and a balance of energy depends on focusing more on the positive than the negative and living in a manner that is spiritually aligned with what we know is the Truth.
Symbolic Sight. . . the ability to see through physical illusions, learn of our power symbols and how they effect our lives and recognition of the lessons being offered by our life challenges. . . is developed when we are able to learn the Truth and to allow our Divinity to work within and through us.

Trust Your Intuition!

By Lois Galloway

How many times have you been faced with a decision to make and all of a sudden you get this feeling of instinctively knowing what you must do? Something inside you is telling you the difference between what you should do and what you are meant to do. Many people interpret this as a hunch, a gut feeling or having an inkling.

It's actually called your intuition.

The latin meaning of intuition is 'in to you'. Makes sense doesn't it. What a wonderful resource you each have at your fingertips and it can be utilized without formal training. All you need to do is become aware of this amazing power within you and start using it.

Intuitive messages come in a range of ways such as hearing actual words, visualizing a clear and distinct picture, in dream format, a deep inner knowing or a quiet, subtle nudge. It's important that you become familiar with how your inner self communicates with you and how this message will bring with it a sense of calm confidence.

Here's some tips to help you get in touch with your own intuition.

Practice

Take a few minutes each day to experience inner silence. Calm your mind and clear your thoughts so that the information from your soul can surface.

Be Open to This Power

Get past the ego that thinks you have everything figured out and be open to new possibilities. Your true path may not be the one that you are currently working on.

Get Creative

Creativity provides a forum for expression and a great venue for helping your intuition get past all the day to day stuff in life.

Ask Yourself Some Questions

When you ask yourself, 'What's the next step?", you will instinctively know what you need to do. This is the time when you must begin to learn to trust yourself.

Remember, intuition is not something you can force, it simply must be allowed to surface. Give it time to work on challenges you may face, be open to the possibilities and you will be rewarded with an instant awareness and perhaps an "Aha" or two.

Intuition is never attached to results. There's no rush, no confusion. Just a feeling of empowerment. Your own intuition will support your personal growth and help you through lifes transitions. Begin by putting it to work in small ways and eventually your sixth sense will enhance your life like your other five senses are able to do.

Let me challenge you to put yourself out there for the next twenty-four hours and make a list of all the times you have listened to your own intuition. Some of you may find that it speaks to you many times and others not at all.

That's ok.

Sometimes it takes time and commitment to develop this skill but I guarantee you will find a huge difference in your life once you begin trusting this wonderful power within you.

Meditation for Those Who Do Not Want to Meditate
By Taijwant Ramdeva

I have met many people who do not want to meditate; yet they seek peace of mind. They just do not want to concentrate here or focus there. Their main point of contention is that they just do not have the power of concentration. I simply ask them, if they lacked power of concentration, how come they still retained their jobs? How could they possibly work for so many hours at a stretch?

Forget Concentration

People are surprised when I tell them that meditation needs NO concentration. When you try to concentrate, you force your mind to do something it does not want to do. In fact, you are creating more tension than providing release! What happens when someone imposes his will on you? It creates tension, does it not? The same applies to the mind. So, how can you expect to find peace coercing your mind to focus or concentrate? Forget this concentration business!

Awareness is the Answer

The simplest form of meditation is being AWARE of what you are doing. Here is a simple technique for those who DO NOT want to meditate.

Sit in your chair – slouch by all means, if that is what you want to do. Gently close your eyes. Just be aware of your breath. You will notice how shallow it is. The shallower your breath, the more tense you become. You will have to get out of your slouched position somewhat. Now, notice the way you breathe. It will not be as shallow as it was before. If you sit with your spine erect, it will facilitate deeper breathing.

So, gently close your eyes again, breathe softly and deeply while being aware of your breath. Be aware of the beautiful deep rhythm your breath settles down to. As your breath gets progressively slower and deeper, your consciousness may wander into another dimension of existence, where peace prevails. You may have been there for a second or a fraction thereof; but, when you come back, you will find yourself in an absolutely relaxed state.

Taijwant Ramdeva is a qualified energy healer, yoga practitioner, and a Reiki Grand Master. He loves to experiment with energies and is always looking to simplify techniques to help people benefit from esoteric practices. From a blackbelt in taekwondo to becoming an energy healer was a fascinating transformation - from using chi for destructive purposes (breaking wooden planks and bricks) to healing people.
